New Orleans, LA — Zion Williamson, the New Orleans Pelicans’ dynamic forward, has been ruled out for tonight’s game against the Boston Celtics due to a left foot bone contusion. This marks his first absence of the 2025–26 NBA season, raising concerns among fans and analysts alike.
Head coach Willie Green addressed the situation, stating, “It was something that popped up this morning, but I didn’t think it was severe; I wasn’t sure.” Despite initial optimism, the decision was made to hold Williamson out as a precautionary measure.
In the opening two games of the season, Williamson showcased his elite capabilities, averaging 27 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. His performance was instrumental in the Pelicans’ offensive strategy, and his absence tonight will undoubtedly be felt.
The Pelicans are scheduled to face the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, October 29. The team will monitor Williamson’s recovery closely to determine his availability for that matchup.
