Kings Overcome Blackhawks 3–1 in Chicago

The Los Angeles Kings secured a 3–1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday night at the United Center, extending their point streak to five games with a 3–0–2 record over that span. This win marked their first regulation victory of the season, improving their record to 4–3–3.

Fiala and Laferriere Lead the Charge

The Kings turned the game in their favor during a 1:25 span early in the second period. Alex Laferriere tied the game with a goal, followed by Kevin Fiala’s wraparound tally, giving Los Angeles a 2–1 lead. Fiala added an empty-netter late in the third period to seal the win.

Forsberg’s Steady Presence

Goaltender Anton Forsberg was instrumental in the victory, stopping 22 of 23 shots faced. His performance helped the Kings bounce back from a shootout loss to the Nashville Predators the previous night.

Blackhawks’ Streak Ends

Chicago’s rookie sensation, Connor Bedard, scored the lone goal for the Blackhawks, redirecting a shot off the post into the net. Despite entering the game with a five-game point streak (4–0–1), the Blackhawks were unable to overcome the Kings’ second-period surge. Goaltender Arvid Söderblom made 19 saves in the loss.

Looking Ahead

The Kings will continue their road trip with a matchup against the San Jose Sharks, aiming to build on their recent success. Meanwhile, the Blackhawks will look to regroup and bounce back in their next game.
